MED Talks are the ATA Medical Division’s content-based presentation series, free and open to all Medical Division members! They usually last 60 minutes and are limited to 100 participants.

This MED Talk will be recorded, and the recording will be available for a limited time to all members who register.


Topic: Remote Interpreting, Part Two

Speaker: Yasha Saebi

Description: In Part One of the series, we covered the basics, key definitions, and essential details of remote interpreting. In Part Two of the webinar series “Remote Interpreting,” we will explore situations where remote interpreting is crucial and necessary. We’ll also discuss the challenges faced by OPI (Over-the-Phone Interpreting) and VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) professionals and share practical strategies to help overcome those challenges. The session will include some case studies.

About the Speaker: Yasha Saebi has over 20 years of experience as an interpreter and translator. She is a member of the ATA Advocacy Committee, working to protect both Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and language professionals. Yasha also serves as a Commissioner for CCHI, where she actively encourages interpreters to pursue and elevate their credentials. She served two terms as Administrator of the ATA Medical Division and is currently a member of the Leadership Councils for both the Medical and Government Divisions.
