Topic: Peds FTW: Acronyms Used in Pediatrics
Speaker: Sara Greenlee MATI, CT, CHI™- Spanish
Description: Acronyms are everywhere in medicine, and pediatrics is no exception. In fact, there are many acronyms that are unique to pediatrics because they represent conditions that children grow out of – like RDS – or issues that must be resolved in childhood – like HLHS or CDH. Join us to learn 20+ acronyms that are used almost exclusively in pediatrics and review the concepts they represent.
About the Speaker: Sara Greenlee, CT, CHIV-Spanish is a medical translator and interpreter who works both in-house and as a freelancer. She is ATA (ES>EN) and CCHI certified. Currently, Sara serves as the Administrator of the ATA Medical Division. She holds a master’s degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). Her career in medical interpretation began at Stanford Children’s Hospital, though she currently works as a Lead Interpreter at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Southern California. Sara gives trainings for translators and interpreters and continues to share her knowledge within the profession whenever she can.
